Every Penny Counts!

We are very grateful to everyone who fundraises for us and can assure them that every penny is put to very good use. Here are some of the ways CREST members and their friends, families and supporters have raised money for us:

Sponsored Walk 2017

On 7th May our Vice Chairman, Michael Wells, joined about 85 walkers for the 10 km "Waterways of Shepperton" sponsored walk. He raised a total of £145 for CREST and we are very grateful to him and to everyone who sponsored him.

Ashford Horticultural Society Open Gardens

Open gardens

Members of the Ashford Horticultural Society opened their gardens to the public. Visitors could see the varied and interesting gardens, buy some plants and have tea and cakes in the sunshine. All the hard work that went into the event was rewarded by takings in excess of £900, which they have kindly donated to CREST. We are very grateful to them all.

Shepperton Wig Company

SWIGS

Jo and Linda from the Shepperton Wig Company have continued to support CREST and raise money for us. This year Jo has run the Brighton Marathon and they have hosted an Elvis Tribute night. The proceeds from these events were shared between CREST and CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young). Thank you both - we really appreciate all you do for us.

Louise, Nick and Jade raised a fantastic £205 when they took part in the 10km "Waterways of Shepperton" sponsored walk in May. CREST is very grateful to them and their sponsors. Would you like to take part next year?

Happy Birthday Mary!

Birthday gifts

Mary, one of our members, had a birthday bash in December and asked her guests if they would make a donation to CREST in lieu of presents. She raised £276 which we have used to buy a bumperbundle of much-needed equipment — many thanks!

Our Vice Chairman, Michael Wells, walked the 10 km "Waterways of Shepperton" on 10th May and raised over £60 for CREST. Thank you very much Michael, and everyone who sponsored him.

Extend class

Extend class collect over £300 for CREST!

The Extend exercise class from Staines Community Centre collected £300.12 for CREST at a recent coffee morning. Joan went along to meet them and collect their donation after giving a short talk about all things CREST. We would like to say a very big thank you to Lesley and her very generous class.

Rotary Club of Shepperton Aurora raises £165

CREST volunteers joined Santa and the Rotary Club of Shepperton Aurora making their Christmas doorstep collection in Shepperton. We are very grateful to the Rotarians for inviting us to take part and to everyone who made a donation - we raised £165!

Shepperton Wig Company talk about the importance of wigs

Jo and Linda from the Shepperton Wig Company raised £120 for CREST when they gave a talk to the Twickenham Townswomen's Guild about the importance of wigs to cancer patients and how much it means to have hair back. Thank you so much for your support!

Staines Conservative Club

Staines Conservative Club Step Back in Time

Staines Conservative Club organised a charity disco in aid of the Princess Alice Hospice and CREST on July 26. They raised £150 for us - what a fantastic achievement!

Extend class

Extend class reaches out to CREST

Just before Christmas the Wednesday morning Extend exercise class from Staines Community Centre held a fundraising coffee morning and raised a fantastic £92 for CREST. They held a raffle and, with their tutor Lesley Bennett, donated their class fees for the morning to CREST.

£1,500 – and still counting!

On Sunday 12th May, Janice, Geraldine, Isobel, Debbie, Jo, Linda, Mary, Alison, Lisa and Joan took up the challenge to walk the "Waterways of Shepperton" to raise money for CREST. They managed the 10km walk in under 3 hours and have raised well over £1,500 - congratulations to all of you!

Shepperton Wig Company host a Pampered Chef evening

Jo and Linda from Shepperton Wigs hosted a "Pampered Chef" evening on 21st March and raised over £200 through their raffle and selling Pampered Chef products. The event was great fun and included demonstrations of how to prepare recipes that produce fabulous results!

Jo's Marathon Run raises £1,901

On 17th March CREST member Jo Hold ran the Colchester Half Marathon in memory of her auntie Jeanette. She completed the race in 2 hours 1 minute and 7 seconds and raised £1,901 through sponsorship and a donation from her employers, Jardine Lloyd Thompson. Congratulations on this fantastic achievement!

Santa

Christmas Collection raises £300

On December 17th CREST volunteers joined Santa and the Rotary Club of Shepperton Aurora making their doorstep collection in the Greeno Crescent area of Shepperton. We are very grateful to the Rotarians for inviting us to take part and to everyone who made a donation.

Staines Line Dancers raise £60

The generous STAY IN LINES line dancers, who meet at Riverbridge School in Staines, raised a huge £60 from a raffle at their summer dance party on 25th July. Sarah was absolutley delighted to accept this very kind donation on behalf of all the CREST members.

Care in Shepperton

Care in Shepperton

CARE in Shepperton is a group of volunteers who offer 'Good Neighbour' help to those who need it, arranging and providing transport for Hospital and Health Centre journeys and shopping. In return, users can make a small donation - and Care has very kindly offered this money to CREST. We are very grateful to Care in Shepperton and all the people who use their service for their very generous donation of £500.

Bring-and-Buy Cake Sale

Cake Sale

A big thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising cake sale on December 6th. We were very pleased to see you all and were glad you could join us for coffee and a chat. We raised over £155 from the sale of your delicious cakes which will help to keep CREST supporting you.

Line Dancers

Bagster House Line Dancers raise £1,000 for CREST!

The fantastic Line Dancers from Bagster House club in Shepperton have raised an amazing £1,000 for CREST through their weekly raffles. We are so grateful for their extremely generous donation and can assure them that every penny will be put to very good use.

Sale of Books

The staff and patients at Staines Health Group raised £175 for CREST from the sale of books at the surgery. Thank you all very much indeed.

Loose Change

Whenever Sally was given a copper coin in her change she saved it for CREST. She broke open her piggy bank for the Relaxation Day and all the 1p and 2p coins added up to a fantastic £5.

Ebay Auction

Frances and her daughter turned out their cupboards and sold some items they no longer wanted, including Shire Horse Society memorabilia and a Wallace and Gromit salt and pepper set. The goods were auctioned on Ebay and raised £47 for CREST.

Fundraising Walk

Dietlimd and her friends organised a sponsored walk from Chertsey Bridge to the Thames Court Hotel and back again in memory of their friend Carol. They raised £65 for CREST, which was used to help patients who needed MLD treatment.
