Chilling out in the sun!

We had fabulous weather for our June Relaxation Day. Warm sun and a gentle breeze meant we could sit outside for coffee and lunch and enjoy the lovely patio garden at White Lodge. We couldn't run the day without our teams of volunteers, so here's a chance to see who they were and what they did.

Relaxation Day

The "outdoor helpers" were our regular volunteers topped up by retired police officers and students from Brooklands College. They organised the car parking (and it's no mean feat to find space for up to 100 cars!), helped the therapists unload their equipment, set up all the tables and chairs, and even carried the Waitrose delivery into the kitchen!

Relaxation Day

The "indoor helpers" were again regular volunteers, joined for the day by staff from Spelthorne Borough Council. They manned the reception desk, sold raffle tickets, served the hot drinks, laid the tables, prepared the lunch - and then tackled the mountain of clearing up! If you're wondering where Joan is - she's doing the washing up!

Relaxation Day

Last but definitely not least - our therapists. You may well recognise some of the faces from previous Relaxation Days - many of them volunteer for every Relaxation Day and it wouldn't happen without them.

Relaxation Day

And finally the most important people at a Relaxation Day - yourselves. We hope you had a lovely relaxing day and enjoyed your treatment and workshop. The Extend Exercise group certainly had great fun with Lesley, and I think the results of the Art workshop speak for themselves!

Relaxation Day

We really are very grateful to all the volunteers who work so hard behind the scenes to make it a great day for everyone. A special thanks must also go to Trevor and Terry from White Lodge for all their help.
