Two CREST volunteers receive awards at the
VAIS Annual Celebration for Volunteers

Judith and Sarah were surprised and delighted to receive awards for the work they do for CREST at the VAIS Annual Celebration for Volunteers on July 18th.

Judith, our treasurer, was nominated for the fantastic job she does looking after our finances. Her citation reads:

"Since volunteering for CREST Judith has set up a marvellous accounting system and improved our cash flow, income and expenditure. She has made changes to our banking system which now gives us a little more interest and processes all our gift aid claims to the inland revenue, collecting back the tax. This is always a good thing! She is diligent, easy going, and is always available to provide guidance on charity outlays. Judith has recently put herself forward for training in First Aid and Food Hygiene to help CREST."

Sarah, our IT bod, created our website and membership database. Her citation reads:

"Sarah has set up a Database system for CREST which enables us to contact all our members. This system, although simple to use, is an extremely complex piece of software, allowing us to identify all types of membership, therapists, workshop leaders and donors etc. Sarah also maintains and updates our website, our leaflets and newsletters. She is a regular volunteer at our relaxation days, booking in therapist and workshop leaders. She can also seen at times under desks sorting out cables for the PCs! Sarah's contribution to CREST has been remarkable."

Judith and Sarah would both like to thank the whole team of CREST volunteers who make the charity such a success.

Elizabeth MacKendar-Moore, the Chief Officer (Manager) of Voluntary Action in Spelthorne said
