AGM

CREST's 8th AGM!

Our 8th Annual General Meeting was held on Monday 13th May in Spelthorne Council's Offices in Staines. We were delighted to be able to share the cakes with so many of our members this year!

For those of you who weren't able to attend, here are a couple of extracts.

From the Chairman's Address:

You may not realise but this coming year 2014 will be a very special one for CREST as it will be our 10th year, an achievement we will really want to celebrate with our members. CREST first began during 2004. We got our charity number in August 2005 and had our very first AGM in April 2006. Many faces have changed over the years, but the commitment to CREST remains, which is a testimony of the service we provide in the local areas. We must always realise that we are a voluntary organisation and count on volunteers heavily to run the charity. We must all make a conscious effort to inform everyone that CREST is run solely by volunteers. I would like to thank our therapists and workshop leaders, Debbie Frythe our counsellor, our wigs ladies Jo and Linda, all our generous funders, Spelthorne Borough Council, Sainsbury’s - Staines and the public at large for their donations and support of us.

From the Trustees' Report:

AGM

We have seen a lot happening during the past year and feel that CREST is moving forward in a positive way. A warm welcome is extended to Kwasi Kwarteng MP as a new Patron –his presence will greatly enhance the reputation and status of the charity. It is our opinion that CREST is functioning as originally intended, with the two Relaxation Days, plus all the other activities, offering ongoing support and relief to cancer patients and their carers. So, overall we are pleased with our progress so far. We would like to thank all our volunteers for all the hard work that they put in over the year. We would also like to thank all the Therapists that turn out on our two flag ship events each year.
